Multimedia Producer & Housing and Land Use Organizer

Priya is an organizer, film/media-maker, and researcher. She grew up in Chennai, India and went on to earn her BA in Digital Media Studies and Philosophy at Scripps College, during which she spent four months in Cuba with the Autonomous University of Social Movements studying mass organizations, the socialist revolution, and the blockade.

Her work spans themes such as the perils of biometric surveillance in India, the material impact of the US blockade on Cuba, and labor organizing in California.

Prior to working at [people. power. media], Priya worked as a Tenant Rights Organizer at Dolores Street Community Services, where she counseled SRO tenants in the Mission District and helped launch a popular education program.
