What's Wrong With SF's Mayor's Small Sites Acquisition Program & How To Fix It

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee announced the Small Sites Acquisition Program on August 11, 2014, which enables non-profit and for profit developers to purchase sites to maintain as affordable housing. The Program allows these developers to access $3 million in City funds to purchase between 5 and 25 unit buildings in San Francisco. This opinion piece explains some of the core problems and missed opportunities concerning how this program is being rolled out.
